Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch optional for thickening
  • Cold water as needed for cornstarch slurry

Instructions

  • Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Sear in olive oil for about 2 minutes per side. This step is optional.
  • Place sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Place pork chops over the onions.
  • Whisk together soup, chicken broth, onion soup mix, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Pour the mixture over the pork chops.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the pork reaches 145°F.
  • Remove pork chops and rest for 5 minutes.
  • For thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with cold water and stir into the slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for about 10 minutes.
  • Serve pork chops with the gravy.

Notes

Searing is optional but adds extra flavor. For the most tender result, avoid overcooking and check the pork with a meat thermometer. Bone-in pork chops generally work well for slow cooking. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator
