  • Brisket 1.5 to 2 pounds
  • BBQ Sauce 1 cup
  • Smoked Paprika 2 tsp
  • Brown Sugar 2 tbsp
  • Chili Powder 1 tsp
  • Garlic Powder 1 tsp
  • Onion Powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Buns 4 soft sandwich buns
  • Coleslaw optional
  • Pickles optional

  • Preheat the Smoker or Oven:
  • Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) or your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Season the Brisket:
  • Combine smoked paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the seasoning mix all over the brisket.
  • Sear the Brisket:
  • Heat oil in a large skillet and sear the brisket on all sides until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Smoking/Roasting:
  • For the smoker: Smoke the brisket for 4-5 hours, maintaining a temperature of 225°F (107°C).
  • For the oven: Roast the brisket for 4-5 hours, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
  • Resting:
  • Let the brisket rest for 30 minutes before slicing or shredding.
  • Prepare the Buns:
  • Toast the buns lightly until golden.
  • Assemble the Sandwiches:
  • Slice or shred the brisket, drizzle with BBQ sauce, and pile on the toasted buns. Add coleslaw and pickles if desired.
  • Serve and Enjoy:
  • Serve with your favorite side dishes like fries or a salad.
